WPT Texas Hold 'Em Poker

“WPT Texas Hold 'Em Poker” was developed by Transgaming Inc., for their GameTree TV storefront on smart TV and mobile devices. I worked on the project between March 2012 and January 2013 as the lead CG Artist, responsible for the modeling, UV layout and normal mapping of all the 3D assets, including the sets, props and player avatars. I worked from concept art, photo reference, and designed some aspects of the assets (such as the character bodies and clothing) from scratch.

Modeling on this project posed a challenge, as meshes had to be as low-poly as possible, with minimal texture space, in order to run fluidly on the target hardware. In addition, as one of the only team members with 3D modeling and rendering experience in Maya, I was required to tackle a variety of tasks outside my area of expertise, including some basic lighting, material editing and rendering for certain assets, such as the Champion’s Cup. This required a great deal of flexibility, problem-solving, and collaboration with my excellent teammates.
